Recent Projects

  • Developed a commercial strategy for the New Zealand Police to source a mobile communications solution, and leading the negotiations with potential suppliers.
  • Engaged by the New Zealand Defense Force to determine its SAP requirements.  Following this, Allan was instrumental in selecting a solution and leading negotiations with potential implementation providers.
  • Assisted Department of Internal Affairs with commercial and negotiation support for a public-private partnership transaction for iGovt.
  • Represented all-of-government in negotiations with Microsoft for the supply of Microsoft products and services.
  • Appointed by both the Ministry of Health and the New Zealand Defense Force to negotiate sector-specific agreements with Microsoft.
  • Appointed by the Department of Internal Affairs to develop commercial strategies and lead negotiations for a new passport system.
  • Appointed by the Department of Internal Affairs to develop commercial strategies and lead negotiations for an Integrated Gambling Platform.
  • Led the business development team at Alcatel-Lucent, in Antwerp, Belgium to deliver offers to Telecom companies worldwide for a range of telecoms projects.
  • Handled negotiations with key Alcatel-Lucent customers for IP transformation and broadband projects, including significant IT migration and integration issues.
  • Provided commercial and strategic advice to Telecom NZ on options for the rollout of Third Generation (3G) mobile networks. 

Background and Experience

Allan can draw on a wealth of international experience at the cutting edge of the global telecoms industry. While working in Europe, he dealt with business development, marketing and commercial negotiations, and developed relationships with leading business such as BT, Deutsche Telekom, France Telecom, Cable & Wireless, KPN, Swisscom and Telefonica. Alongside his experience in Europe, Allan also brings an in-depth understanding of both the New Zealand and Asian markets, and experience within the energy sector.

Having worked at the highest levels of various organisations, Allan has proven his ability to foster business relationships and deliver strategies and processes that work.

A military history buff and music aficionado, when Allan makes his fortune his dream is to purchase an original Modigliani.
